CYG X-1 spectral variability observed with RXTE and BATSE/CGRO
Abstract
Hard X-ray spectral variability is important for understanding the high energy emission mechanism in X-ray binary black hole candidates. The canonical black hole candidate Cyg X-1 was observed extensively in various states with RXTE and CGRO/BATSE. We report our analysis of Cyg X-1 hard X-ray spectral variations during these observations, with special attention to the correlations between the power-law index, the power-law cutoff energy, the reflection component, and the hard X-ray flux in various intensity states.
